This course touches upon every stroke in the game and shows exactly how the top pros play, how they hit the ball, and how to apply it easily to your lessons. Oscar taught Agassi's style before Andre was even born. From the experience gained from competing five years on the international tour, Oscar started teaching this new, revolutionary method of coaching in 1968, at the Beverly Hills Tennis Club, then in Forest Hills, NY, and from there going to Hollywood, West Palm Beach, and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Oscar had difficulty convincing the established tennis teachers associations in the USA that this is a better way to teach. Therefore, in 1973, he took this new coaching methodology to the Tennis Federation in Spain, where it was welcomed and successfully applied. Spanish tennis programs excelled with it. Within a decade tennis became the second most popular sport in Spain (behind soccer). All young Spanish professionals, from Corretja, Moya, Costa, Ferrero, Sanchez, have been influenced by this method. This includes Marat Safin, who learned in Valencia from a young age.
In the 1980s Oscar took this teaching system to Brazil, setting up a program on the island of Florianopolis. It was there that Gustavo "Guga" Kuerten spent the first eight years of his tennis development, with Oscar personally coaching Gustavo Kuerten through the Orange Bowl 14 and under championships. In addition, Oscar helped forty other Brazilian youngsters in that program to achieve national and international rankings, setting the stage for another tennis miracle.
In the early 1990s Oscar moved onto TV in the USA (Prime Network, Sports Channels), where Richard Williams picked up Oscar's techniques and applied it to coach his daughters. In Richard Williams' words: "it made so much sense."
The same is true for Paradorn Srichaphan, whose father Chanachai picked up Oscar's techniques through ESPN International and ordered Oscar's videos to develop his son's great talent. Additionally, through ESPN International, Oscar has reached close to 170 countries with this methodology, influencing coaches from Spain to China, Argentina to Russia, Germany, etc. Those countries are now brimming with top juniors and successful young pros.
